About

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog.

My name’s Nick Fell (nickfell@yahoo.com) (LinkedIn) (Twitter).

I’m an account planner at glue London.

I’ve also worked at Ogilvy Advertising in London.

Here you’ll find words, pictures and videos (but mainly words) on the state of marketing. I also have a Tumblelog with images that I like.

This blog’s name is inspired by a facebook group I started for people who work in advertising called, “Don’t tell my mum I’m in advertising – she thinks I play piano in a brothel”.

There’s some (now pretty old) meeja coverage on the group here.

And I talk about how I might have made it better here.

When I’m not working I enjoy:

Languages, getting on planes, watching football, walking great distances, cycling shorter ones and reading Monocle. Oh, and surfing the web (do people still say that?).

    Hey Nick,

Thanks for posting our link under the “Why its a good time to be funny” post. It drove in a bit of traffic and as struggling comedy writers, we take what we can get. Thanks again, we apprecaite it. Have a great one and stay awesome.

hey, just stumbled upon your blog, from Cali so the “mum” in the title caught my eye. That line is hilarious by the way, the whole ad joke. I like that quote you just posted too, but don’t you think too much reason can be just as harmful? Like my main girl Hellen Keller said, ” Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.”

    Hi Mike,

Thanks a lot for taking a look around. Totally agree that too much reason can be harmful. In fact, that quote is designed to promote the virtues of emotion over reason…
